Bill, Brenda, and I watched the High Country Cowboys annual match, Shootout at Wolf Creek 2008. Cowboy Action Shooting is a sport where challengers shoot competition stages with firearms from the 1899 period and earlier; single action pistols, lever action rifles, and shotguns.
We met Mac Arnold while visiting a friends house. Mac plays unique "gas can" guitars which he makes himself. Check out Mac Arnold and Plate Full O' Blues on Mac's website: macarnold.com
While in Springfield we stayed at Jerry's place. Jerry heard about us and called Brenda on our cell phone. Bill also agreed to testout a local company's saddle. Timberline Saddle company sent out one of there flex-panel saddles.
I was all alone for a while at Frenchman's Bend, but was delighted to have some company.
Scott has been working in the area and comes out every night. He tels me about one of his favorite springs from up on Oregon.

Last week (March 28th and 29th) Brenda, Bill and I drove to Georgia with some of Brenda's family: Larry, Dottie, and Cheryl to Georgia to visit the Best Bar None Ranch. Dr. Bill Barns Invited us and many others to participate in roping, branding and steering his calves.
Randy brought us over to his his Amish friends so Bill could reshoe Blackie. We had been looking for Drill Tech/ Borium for quite some time, and the shoes Blackie had on needed to be replaced. Without Borium the shoes will not have the grip needed on pavement or concrete. In this video Bill removed the old shoes and prepares the hoofs.
Bill nearly made it to Huntingdon when Blackie lost one of his shoes. Luckily Randy, who we had met in the previous town at a restaurant saw Bill and bought us to him. He then brought us to some Amish folks that had a facility to shoe, and more importantly the Drill Tech Bill needed. (Drill Tech is used on steel horseshoes to provide traction and a much more resistant surface.)
Bill Inman, his horse Blackie, and the crew, stayed at the VFW in Louisville, Tennessee during our first trip across America. It's been awhile since this happened but I have just put this video together.
After Bill and Blackie took a break at the gas station, they continued on into Dyersburg. After Brenda and I setup the panels she decided to go and check up on Bill with my car. Shortly after she came back and took the truck and trailer to pickup Bill and Blackie.
It's not always about being on the horse. Here we let loose and have some fun tubing down the Portneuf River in Lava Hot Springs.

Brenda and I setup our little camp at the rodeo grounds at the Milan city park. Bob showed up a few hours later and Bill arrived shortly after. The two hit it off and began joking and talking.
Bill comments on an old homestead and a house made of river rock. Imagine all the hard work and pride in making that little house for himself and his family.
